Last night, my family and I braved the cold and ventured to the Creation Museum (Petersburg, KY) for a memorable evening. As we entered, we were counted in the Bethlehem census. Then, we walked through the Creation Museum's Bethlehem marketplace where we found first century oil lamps, pottery, baskets, toys, and engaging villagers. The next step on our journey was the CM's Live Nativity. A captivating story-teller/archeologist gave us an inside look at first century Bethlehem on the night JESUS was born. I have been to several live nativities throughout the years, but this is definitely one of my favorites.
I love walking through the Museum Gardens which are brightly and tastefully lit with over 60,000 lights. This is a fabulous experience! There is simply no way to capture all the loverly-ness of it with a camera.
My youngest sister's favorite section was the final part of our outdoor adventure at the Creation Museum–the petting zoo. This zoo is filled with unique and fun animals like wallabies, camels, llamas, zedonks (zebra/donkey hybrids), and zorses (zebra/horse hybrids).
We wrapped up our evening at the Creation Museum with a live drama by "Anna" (Luke 2:36-38). She told us the story of her and Simeon's long wait for the MESSIAH and the delight of their hearts when they saw HIM for the first time.
You still have a chance to see the Creation Museum's special Nativity and spectacular lights! The Christmas Town at the Creation Museum will be open tonight (December 28th), Friday (December 31st), and Saturday (January 1st) from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
