Towards the end of [the Journey event], we took a roadtrip to Leesburg, Virginia to see Rebekah J. Murray's studio–the Wedgewood Collective. She shares her studio space with event designer, Carrie Moe of [Fleurish Events]. Our afternoon was spent enjoying the delightfully warm weather, "oohing" and "aahing" over the studio, and discussing photography. Such fun!

the [journey] event | part I
Finding the right words to describe an influential experience can be hard. How do you sum up in a blog post all the elements of an experience that changed the way you look at life? No matter how long I stared at my keyboard waiting for the words, it was not the neatly arranged keys that finally inspired me, but this photograph. (courtesy of Hailey Huggins)
L-R: Hailey Huggins, Rebecca Downs, Babbs Gonzales, Kristi Witek, and me (missing Laura Pensack)
Interesting inspiration, you may be thinking . . . yes, but I think this photograph does a lovely job capturing our different personalities. A week we began with introductions ended with us parting ways as dear and cherished friends. It was such a delight to be part of this group of special girls that attended [the Journey Event] last February 13-19.
[the Journey Event] was the product of two photographers creativity and hard work–Rebekah Murray of [Rebekah J Murray Photography] and Sarah Danaher of [Ampersand Photography]. It was fabulous spending a week covering the aspects of beginning and running a photography business with these two sweet photographers. Our small class size allowed our learning time to flow as one long photography conversation peppered, of course, with innumerable questions. A branding discussion with morning coffee, sharing ideas about money management as we made lunch, afternoon Starbucks runs paired with conversation about client relations, laughter about photo shoot mistakes over dinner, and late night talks about life made this week a never-to-forget learning experience.
My wonderful new photography friends who I attended [the Journey Event] with were Rebecca Downs (from Virginia), Laura Pensack (from Pennsylvania), Hailey Huggins (from Georgia), Angelina (Babbs) Gonzales (from Georgia), and Kristi Witek (from Indiana). I am so glad GOD brought our lives together!
We stayed in a huge house mansion in the suburbs of D.C.
my dear friend, Kristi
Babbs has an amazing gift for getting people laugh.
Our last night, we went into D.C. for a walk around the town, dinner, and some casual photography. The sunset was loverly . . . and there was a full moon to top the evening off!

[easter]
"I do not mind telling you that within me I find the Easter message and the reality of the Resurrection more beautiful and glorious than the Christmas scene. Christmas tells us that Jesus was born; that He was born for the humiliation of suffering and death and atonement. But Easter is the radiant and glory-filled celebration of Christ's mighty triumph over the grave and death and hell! When Easter comes, our voices are raised in the triumphant chorus: The three sad days had quickly sped; He rises glorious from the dead! There is the real beauty! This is more than the beauty of color; more than the beauty of outline or form; more than the beauty of physical proportion. In the living Christ is the perfection of all beauty; and because He lives, we too shall live in the presence of His beauty and the beauties of heaven, forever!" ––A.W. Tozer

the [Roukas] family
When we arrived at the Roukas home for our photo shoot, Gideon (3) could not have been more excited . . . he couldn't wait to show and tell us all about his "Thomas" (the Train), "Mater and Mightning McQeen," . . . and new baby sister, Lexi (2 months). A beautiful baby, Lexi slept through most of our photo shoot before waking up to show off her dark brown eyes. So cute!

meet [rusty]
My dear friends, the Dement family, recently got a new golden retriever puppy. This squirmy new family member, Rusty, has brought much joy and laughter into the lives of the four Dement boys. Isn't he just adorable?!?!?!

the [Meeks] family pictures
The Meeks family has been close friends of mine ever since our first trip together to Child Evangelism Fellowship with College Park Church several years ago. Gary is on staff at College Park Church, Peg is one of my closest mentors, and Chad and Molly are some of my dear munchkin friends. Henry, the Meeks energized puppy, joined us for the afternoon and made sure there was never a dull moment!
Enjoy!
